Mail Call!!! Sweet Surprises!

I had asked TattingChic for some pattern help on a pattern that was in a foreign language and she printed out the photo and highlighted the 2 shuttles for me making it really clear for me! Thank you so much for doing that TattingChic! You can click on the photo to see it larger and read the instructions for This Pattern. THEN she also added in some tatting bits she had thinking that it was no big deal and I might be able to use them in my crazy quilting!!! No big deal?!? HA! I LOVE to get tatting bits!!! I always cherish them and save them as precious little treasures to use in my CQ! Thank you TattingChic I love them and I'll think of you whenever I use them!

Also I've gotten an Etsy order from My 1st Bambina's Esty Shop, I ordered some vintage patterns from her! My very first vintage patterns!!!!!! Love them!!! I even love the little apron I'll embroider that and I want to try wearing it...my first apron too! LOL The fabric seems like it needs to be washed first but I'm wondering if I do that will the stamped pattern come off?
ALSO she added in a little giftie that was such an unexpected surprise and so sweet it brought tears to my eyes! She gave me some little sew-ons and two "tea" themed specialty cards to use and I love them! Thank you My 1st Bambina!!!

Today I got a wonderful gift in the mail from TattingChic!

Why that is my Hand Tatted treasure of Friendship made just for me by TattingChic!!!

So elegant and perfect with tiny little stitches! Also it will match all the work I'm doing on the hand bag for this little bible!

Here is both treasures that she sent me tucked lovingly in pink mulberry paper!

As you can see it will be a perfect addition to one of Bekah's Princess Blocks...just what Princess Bekah will need, a delicious lace strawberry Ice Cream Cone, on a hot day! I just know she'll love it! I'm thinking some whipped cream with a strawberry on top will be the perfect touch to this wonderful tatted cone!

A sweet giftie!!!

Today just must be my day! I got a sweet, sweet giftie from Carol L. over at Hand Embroidery Group! She sent me some berry fabric with yummy strawberries on it and some sweet red heart sequins that can be used as strawberries on a block and some little flower sequins to go with them for the little strawberry flowers! So I'm all hooked up! I just need a sewing "mood" to strike and before ya'll know it I'll have a strawberry block made! LOL

Wonderful Gift Thank You!!!

I just received in the mail the most sweetest gift made with love from Donna! I enjoy reading Donna's blog she is such a sweet lady! She also has a blog, Rambling In Atlanta, where she shares about her life growing up and life lessons and I've teared up several times reading it and just enjoy getting to know her better. It takes courage to share your life like that and I'm so glad she has. I've found not only do we share a love of embroidery, crazy quilting, and nature, but we also share a love for Jesus first and foremost!
Now onto the eye-candy!

Donna made this little Shadow Work Christmas bear! Isn't it so sweet?! I just love it! AND I've not gotten to see real live shadow work up close and in person!

As you can see she did a wonderful job stitching it up!

And take a look at that back! Just as beautiful as the front and you really see how much work goes into it!

She also made and sent this adorable cottage needlebook! I will be using this all the time, it's much more perfect to have sitting on the ottoman than a round mini-pincushion that's got needle's sticking out every-which-way! LOL Also to tuck in my purse to take with me! Oh and I have to tell you all this is my very first needlebook! I've never had one before so it's extra special!

Spoiled!!!!

I got a surprise in my mailbox from Jill! She so sweetly shared some of her favorite pink silk velvet with me!!! And it IS yummy! Also she sent a pretty vintage hanky, some silk Dupioni that has beautiful embroidery on it, a length of a silk ribbon braid, and a vintage jewelery finding! I feel so spoiled!!! I've always wanted a vintage finding like that too but have never went ahead and bought any! I want to make something special out of these goodies, but I'm not sure what it will be yet.

Few things I'm working on and a Thank You!

First I would like to say Thank You to Cheryl who so kindly sent me a squishie of River Silk ribbon to try and the most Yummy velvets for my stash! A photo just doesn't show the delicious texture and suppleness of the velvets! Thank you Cheryl!

Since a pattern for the doily I found is no where to be found I just printed out the scan and counted the stitches and used that as a diagram. It's a very simple pattern no special techniques needed to do it all you need to know how to do is ring, chains, and joins. This doily would also work well for needle tatters.

I'm tatting it up in size 80 DMC tatting thread, which I love since it tats very nicely. Since the original doily is tatted in what I believe is size 10, it will be a lot smaller and delicate looking.
I've only gotten 2 repeats done but my goal is 1 repeat a day and there are 8 repeats in the pattern. As I was tatting it yesterday I had an idea that I think would be pretty. Three repeats of the pattern would look lovely as a skirt for a belle or princess, and all you would need is to embroider in the upper body! My friend Wendy is making a princess crazy quilt for her daughter and she said I can help with it too so I think I will use that idea on it.

This is a little sneak peek at the block I'm making for a Cream on Cream RR that is just starting up! I pieced it last night because I was too anxious to get started, but I still have a little finishing up before it heads out. I'll blog it later on when it's ready, and let you know what it will become when it is complete.

This Thank You goes to Pat Winter who is such a sweet and generous lady! What a wonderful gift of Crazy Quilt stash! There is beautiful fabrics, hand dyed lace, silkies, beads, sequins, ribbon, silk floss, hand dyed silk ribbon, and hand dyed cheese cloth!
I have been so blessed lately! I think that Crazy Quilters are some of the most sweetest, most sharing, and most generous ladies there are and I'm so happy to know so many!

Wonderful gifts! Thank You!

My first Thank You goes to Tracy who generously offered to send me some extra goodies she had so that I can embellish my CQ Bedspread, and other CQ projects! There is ribbons, trims, threads, bits of beaded trim, venice lace, and vintage lace too! Thank you Tracy!

The second Thank You goes to Jill who offered to send me a squishie of fabrics and lace for my CQ Bedspread! And wow what a squishie! Jill shared with me some of the most exquisite fabrics and lace! So many textures! This really broadens my fabric selection on the quilt! I was just floored when I saw what she sent!

She even included a few other colors just because.

This large piece of lace is from an antique handmade tablecloth that was given to her mother and passed to her! That is so special, I think I will use it to make a decorative throw pillow.

More lace, vintage lace and another piece of the tablecloth!

And check out that vintage cluny lace, it's so delicate and tiny! I will be using that on the matching non-washable wall hanging.

Aren't these tatted bugs gorgeous!?! I received a little card in the mail from Charlene and inside were these wonderful tatted bugs! I just LOVE them! They feel so soft, and delicate, and the color is wonderful! The little caterpillar even has bead eyes! You can click on the photo to see closer. I love dragonflies, and this one is just so sweet! I know Charlene doesn't like a lot of attention drawn to her but I just HAD to share the gorgeous work she did! Charlene are they made of silk???
Charlene says they are made of Finca cotton! They are so very soft! I love them. Thank you Charlene!

I'm so excited! Today I received a package in the mail and inside I found these 2 tiny crochet hooks to try making Tambour lace with, and 2 tambour lace doilies! And it's from Elizabet! Thank you Elizabet!!! I can't wait to try out making some tambour lace! And the doilies are so delicate, I could use them as display or in some CQ! I don't know which because they are so pretty, they would look good with my antique china, but then they would look good in CQ too! Oh the dilemma of pretty doilies! I'm curious as to what you all would do?

Today I checked my mail and inside as a package from Vanessa Hall from the Hand Embroidery Group!!! I opened it and this is what was inside! Wonderful tea fabrics and goodies!!! She sent pieces of cute teapot floral fabric, and tea cup floral fabric, and a pink paisley fabric, and a embroidered hankie, and beads, and sparklies, and gorgeous pearl beads. A cute teapot charm that I just adore! And look at the purple and gold beads they will match my sister's CQ heart that I'm working on!!! And wow that crochet basket!!! Vanessa made it herself! It's soo pretty and tiny and perfect! I'm going to have some CQ fun with this stuff!!! OHHH I just had an idea to make like a tea heart set that I can put around my kitchen! One with the hankie as a center, one with a teapot as a center, and one with the basket as the center!!! I'll have to dream up what I want to do. I want to make one for my friend Christina too, we share a love for tea, and she's in Iraq right now I think that would cheer her up!
