Favorite Things: Tea Cookies

Thought you all might enjoy this sweet shot since I'm working on tea themed CQ!  One of my favorite teacups a Royal Albert 'Old Country Roses' and my fave tea cookies on one of my antique Haviland Limoges plates!

Antique Shopping Finds

Over our 10 year anniversary getaway me and hubby went to antique shops too and I found some goodies! A whole stack of Haviland Limoges (which I collect) plates all of them have chips on the edges but only one is cracked and can't be used I got it for $16!!! I also found some in a beautiful rose pattern in great condition for very good prices! I just love them the floral patterns always inspire silk ribbon embroidery for me!
I also found a set of butter knives that are the perfect size for tea parties! I also found some doilies one with a tatted edging that I got for $1 a hankie with an "M" on it, class nobs and door nobs. I also found a cut glass bell, I've been looking for one to remember my grandmother who loved bells and collected them and I never got one of hers when she passed away, she would have loved this one too! I also found and antique collar!!! OH it's so pretty! I want to use it on something special.

Crafter's Shop Find

On our way back home we made a road trip of our time and stopped at Antique Stores along the way. At one of our stops in Stockton there was a little shop called "Creative Crafters Vintage Nook". We stopped in and found that it is a gem, so if anyone is driving by Stockton you'll want to take a pit stop to this sweet shop! Click on the photo above to see all the info for the shop.

I found 2 tea cups I couldn't live without, some pretty buttons and an apron. The buttons were a scoop for a dollar!

The yellow tea cup is a Shelley! It's probably a newer (I think it's a 1945-1966) one but still, any Shelley is a find so we snatched it up at the affordable price it was! LOL

I also loved this one with the pretty green all over and yellow roses.

Here is the adorable apron I got! It's made by one of the crafters who sells in the shop.
I also saw a tatter's booth, who also was going to do a demonstration for them and maybe lessons if there is an interest. They also loved that I do tatting too, everyone was so sweet and friendly!

Antique China...Silk Ribbon Inspiration

Here are photos of patterns on some of my Haviland Limoges antique china collection. I just love the beautiful roses and the layouts. Wouldn't they make awesome Silk Ribbon Embroideries? You can click on the photos to see a closer veiw. For anyone wanting to use them for personal embroidery inspiration I give you permission to print out the photos. I have more photos to show but I was having trouble adding more, so I'll add more later for more inspiration. Looking at these patterns help me because I have a tendency to want everything to be an identical repeating pattern but these patterns are different most of the way around which make it look more interesting.

Tea Time! In Honor of Christina

Since talking about friends, and thinking of Christina, I've wanted to get out the fine china and have Tea! So I decided to have tea in honor of her. Since she can't be with me, and is deployed to Iraq for a year, I filled her cup with some delightful pink english roses. I filled the teapot with some Tazo Chai Tea, a mutual favorite of ours, brought in flowers from the garden and set things up. Now you can take tea in many different ways...but I prefer to pour my tea in my cup first, then add sweetener, and last the milk. Stir it up and enjoy! Repeat until teapot is empty!
In order to get these pictures, since I am right handed, I had to use my left had for tea and the right for photos! *giggle* I'm just glad the tea, sweetener and milk didn't end up all over the table!
