A Couple More Tatted Hearts

I tatted up a couple more hearts (Peacock Heart by Birgit Phelps) in size 80 thread for two of my small group birthday girls Kaity (purple) and Elizabeth (rainbow)!
Elizabeth loves every color and when I had asked her what color heart she wanted she said Rainbow!!! At that time the HDT rainbow thread was not made so I had no idea what I was going to do...then I saw Tatskool's Rainbow Bright HDT thread!!! And as soon as I saw it I wanted some I knew it was IT! When she sent me a link to her site to buy some I got some in size 80. It's great I love it and I know Elizabeth will love her rainbow heart necklace too! I was worried that such a small motif might not get all the colors but sure enough it was perfect and I even got some repeat!
P.S. Don't ask why one is bigger...they are both the same pattern with size 80 thread either the size 80's differ a bit or my tension was different with the two not quite sure.

Lovely little pendants you have there. I'm sure they're going to look gorgeous wearing them!

That's really sweet that you make those hearts for your girls' birthdays!
Isn't that funny how threads will do that with the size? I don't know why it does that either.

The heart turned out really well, I wondered if you had ever made it. Thread sizes often do differ slightly from one make to another. Mine was Coats Mercer, what was the purple one?

OH that explains it I used DMC size 80 tatting thread for the other. It's okay though they don't all have to be the same size or anything just small. I'm just glad you made rainbow thread so I could make it possible! Ya I bought some as soon as I saw it and held onto it till it was closer to her birthday it has been a while but at least I was prepared early! LOL

I am quite surprised at that difference between the Coats and the DMC. I will be moving on to dyeing DMC 80 when I have finished my current stash of Coats.
I do find that if I tat a pattern using Flora 20 then tat it with Coats 20 it takes more thread, not a lot but definately more. Yet Flora thread always looks thicker than Coats, it must just be 'fatter' ie. not as tightly spun.mmmm interesting isn't it!
