I found this small doily at a local antiquey shop. When I spotted it was was thrilled to have found it! The price was only $2 so I bought it right away. It needs to be washed and blocked, but I figure I can use it either as a doily or in my crazy quilting. It looks like it is a size 10 ecru cotton thread and is 6 3/4 inches across. I love how it's a continuous pattern. It looks familiar to me not sure why, does anyone know where this pattern comes from?

I don't know any tatting patterns but like you, I think it's very pretty!
Well, it looks familiar and then again it doesn't. That middle section where 4 rings meet in each "spoke" seems unique. I looked through 6 or 7 books and didn't find it but there are over 100 tatting books so ...
Anyway, what a lucky find! You did good!

Gina,
Thank you so much for trying to help. It might have been an edging that was worked into a circle instead? I'm going to browse through some of the antique and vintage patterns and see if I see anything too.

Wow - that was a wonderful find, Melissa! It is very pretty and I love that it is not too complicated to make. If you find the pattern I hope you will post where?
Hugs,
Kerry
