The motif I created from pieces of tatting the bits came from the book "Tatting Rings of Flowers" by Mary Maynard. I liked the little leaf idea and had extra thread still on the shuttle from the strawberry and just did those, thought they looked nice on the block. Then I saw the simple one ring flower that just has 25 stitches with picots between every stitch, all I did was very the lengths of the picots for the different size flowers. I haven't gotten to any beading on this block yet but I'll be adding beads all around and to this tatted motif as well!

I absolutely love the colors and subject of this block. I will be following your progress....
Thank you for your comment on my blog today, Melissa, as always your comments make me smile. I am excited to see more tatting on your block here. I'm impressed with how versatile you are with your tatting design. It looks great all victorian and elegant and it looks just as tasteful when done in a whimsical and fun fashion. I will be visiting your blog to learn how to do silk ribbon embroidery as I have always wanted to learn it, have books on it and have wanted to combine it with tatting and my poetry crosstitched on pillows and framed art for years. Well, thank you for letting me write a novel on your comments. So gracious of you to let me take up all this room on your comment section. LOL
LOL Still making me giggle!!! But ya that sounds like a wonderful idea to add SRE to your tatting and poetry! I think SRE goes well with tatting!
